The YLPA hosted the second annual Winter Carnival on Saturday, 6 February, at the Yankee Lake Clubhouse. The Ice Fishing Contest ran from 8 AM to 2 PM. (Click here for pictures.) While hot coffee was available from 9 AM on for the fishers, the Clubhouse opened at noon for everyone else, providing warmth and free refreshments. Donations were gladly accepted. For a small fee, there were hot dogs, mac ‘n’ cheese, and sodas. Attenders also brought along their favorite desserts for sharing.

There wasn’t quite enough snow for a snowman building contest. However, Snowball Throwing, Tug O’ War, and Snow Volleyball were enjoyed by kids and adults alike. We had a fire pit going for staying warm and toasting marshmallows.
